Abstract:
One specimen of Isabelline Wheatear (Oenanthe
isabellina) was observed and documented at
Besník, Slovenský raj National Park close to
Telgárt village, Central Slovakia, on April
28, 2024, representing the first record for
Slovakia. In Europe, this species breeds in
southeastern regions, where it can be found in
open habitats, such as steppes or pastures.
Occurrence out of the breeding range is rare,
although the distribution of the species in
Europe is expanding. From bordering countries,
it has been recorded several times in Poland,
Austria and Hungary, with breeding population
in eastern parts of Ukraine.
