Abstract: We document a breeding record of the Common Swift (Apus apus) in a starling nest box mounted on an apple tree in the garden in the village of Červený Kláštor (Kežmarok District, northern Slovakia) in 2025. The entrance hole of the nest box was located 3.77 m above ground level, and two fledglings were successfully raised. To our knowledge, this represents the first documented case in Slovakia of Common Swift nesting in a tree-mounted nest box outside the Orava region, where all previously reported instances of such nesting have occurred.

Key words: Common Swift, starling nest box, breeding
